A resurgent Medvedev secured his initial trophy for 882 days with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid season, achieving just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

His unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serve in specific - led to him falling of the top ten and eventually separating with former coach his previous coach.

Currently training with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a hard-fought three-set win over challenger Moutet.

It is the player's maiden title after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard court from spring of the previous year.

The win also signifies he has won 21 titles at 21 various tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my both daughters at once, so to get a trophy is particularly special," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his last six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.

The player's retrieving strategy and frequent outbursts on court had caused observers to doubt if his capacity to compete at the highest level was over.

Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, making an effort to approach the net and play positively, supported by an better serve.

Medvedev came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the challenging opponent, winning 4 of the final five games to gain the advantage.

The competitors traded break points in the middle set before the Frenchman, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour victory, took control to create a final set.

The opponent rescued 4 initial break points in a close final set before Medvedev secured a break to that score to secure the win.

Suitably, Medvedev earned the win with a rally at the net area, with the Frenchman unable to manage a return after a lengthy match.
